I am just about to scream!!!! My conputer is back. but as I was dreading, it needed a lot of setting up. With the old computer, the guy from the computer shop set up the email account for me and I have been using outlook express without knowing how it works. Today I had to set it up myself, but had no idea what is the incoming and outgoing servers. Somehow managed to get the information. Then had problem with password.
At the same time, someone sent me money to my internet auction account. And for some reason I could not log on the my account. Maybe coincidence. Maybe something to do with the email mixup.
AND for the last straw, I cannot set the computer to type in Japanese!!!!!!
It gives the messagage that I need Windows xp servicepack 3 CD, which I don't have. So Dave will go to the computer shop again to see if he can get the CD.
I am an aspiring writer. I NEED TO TYPE IN JAPANESE!!!
Luckily it seems that I can receive email in Japanese. And you can comment on this blog in Japanese I believe.

今やっとデイブのPCで書いています。もう１時なのに、何もセットアップできていない。ああ、メールは何とか受け取れるかな。
いつもは前向きな私も、いやになったよう。

想像しただけでも大変そうですね。ニューヨークにいるITで働いている日本人の友人ですら、アメリカで買ったパソコンで日本語を使えるようにするのに四苦八苦してましたから。日本から買って持っていけば簡単なんだけどねぇ。早く片付くことを祈っています。
やっと落ち着きました！コンピューターショップに行って、「そんなもの必要ないよ。」という店員を説得して、デイブがCDを持って帰ってきました。二人とも半信半疑でしたが、やっと直った！オフィスも入って、ワードで縦書きもできるようになった！
当たり前のことが普通に回ってるとなんとも思いませんが、回らなくなると、本当にしんどいねえ。
大変でしたね。でも、XP以降はCDとか無くても日本語設定できますよ。私も、会社も家も英語OSですが何の問題も無く読み書きしています。
でも、わからないとパニックになりますよね(^_^;) とりあえず解決したようで良かったです。
最近何かと忙しくて書き込みできなくてごめんね。読むだけは読んでいますので！

でも２２日のブログに書いたように、もともとの問題は解決していなかったの。
本当に、コンピューターってよくわけのわからない曲者だと思いませんか。いや、それでも大好きなんですけど。コンピューター君、頼りにしてるから、がんばってね。
